Interesting article Lani and fairly balanced, but you use an OT Bible quote which is still relevant but not directly to your point. In respect of money, we are under the new covenant and Jesus, Acts and the NT makes clear that our heart needs to go beyond outward philanthropy into total sacrifice. Also, the NT makes clear that it is not only those closest to a person that can judge a Christian’s actions. Media itself tells us enough, unless this source itself is fake, that he lives a life and works in a way outside the teachings of the new covenant- hoarding wealth to himself and promoting oppression of the poor, advocating false teaching in his media business. We also need to be seen to be just under the new covenant, and the resignation you cite and other reaction tells me that some amongst the all-important unsaved people would reject the gospel he preaches, a stumbling block to the Kingdom.
