The cost-of-living crisis has placed an increased burden on many families, making it increasingly challenging to afford a warm and joyful Christmas meal. In response to this pressing issue, Christmas Lunch on Jesus (CLOJ), an initiative born in 2007 through the generosity of churches and compassionate individuals across the UK, is committed to making a positive impact.
A Tradition of Joy Since 2007:
CLOJ is built upon the core principle of providing a joyful Christmas experience to those facing financial strain. The initiative offers complimentary festive hampers, thoughtfully filled with all the essentials for a delightful Christmas meal, at no cost to those who need it the most.
Spreading Love and Filling Hearts:
The mission of CLOJ transcends religious boundaries. It is driven by a singular desire – to tangibly share God’s love. The initiative aims not only to fill stomachs but also to warm hearts with joy and kindness during the Christmas season.
What We Do:
CLOJ collaborates with local churches and para-church organizations, working together to create Christmas hampers. These hampers are carefully designed to bring comfort to members of the community who are in desperate need during the holiday season. With a sponsorship of just £30, the initiative can provide a complete Christmas meal to a family in need.
Testimonial: Many thanks for the Christmas hamper. As a pensioner, I really appreciated it because it provided us a hot Christmas lunch. We would not have afforded it, much of our pensions go on bills and there is very little left. We are eating very frugally. There it not much cash left after paying for the gas, electricity, and council tax. Please provide us a hamper next year as well. Many thanks, God bless. F & M
