ALL THINGS NEW
Steven Curtis Chapman
‘You spoke and made the sunrise, to light up the very first day’. These are lovely harvest lyrics about creation and a helpful reminder that harvest is about celebrating new things. Consider this before donating that seven-year-old tin, hmmm? Cheapskate!
CAULIFLOWERS FLUFFY AND CABBAGES GREEN
Every primary school ever I can still sing this entire song today, much to my children’s horror. Should cauliflowers actually be fluffy? If they are, send them back. Cabbages are definitely green, but points deducted for a title that’s only 50% accurate.
WHERE IS THE LOVE?
The Black Eyed Peas
The lyrics of this song convey the thought behind harvest quite nicely. Cauliflowers and cabbages aren’t good for harvest services; we need non-perishable goods, people! Black-eyed peas, however, are the perfect tinned comestible all year round.
